Chemistry with colors

People think learning has to be boring.
Absolutely not. It’s much easier when you’re engaged and involved with what you’re learning, and it’s not dry and boring.

Today? More colors!

We tried tried different crayons, designs, length of time in various colors.  Even used a purple bath bomb to dye, with great success.

Regular day to day things

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup.  The kids were quite excited, they like the homemade version.  I promise there’s chicken and veggies in there, they must have started sinking after I stirred.

The yard is a little nuts.  Sigh.  It’ll look better next year.  One thing at a time.

Another hit with the kids.  Recipe is Beef Stroganoff.  I use Costco meatballs when I’m feeling really lazy.   Which is most of the time nowadays anyway.  Still a hit.  So far, I still have a few leftovers, but there’s only one teenager so far.  Reheats quite nicely.

Yeah.  The planner.  Not busy, not at all.  Yes, I blurred it, you don’t need to know *all* the details of my wacky life.  I mostly like my planner, but I wish I could customize a few extra things on it.  I’m just cranky like that.  Yes, I use post-its for my grocery/shopping lists, then I can just stick them on my phone/wallet and go on my way without having to take my entire planner with me.

Future camping and fire fun

My mom bought us (well, mostly the kids) some groovy new fun toys.   Marshmallow roasting sticks!!!  We tried them out in the fire pit the other night.  I didn’t get any in-action photos.  Lately I’ve been pretty awful at that.  Instead, just being there in the moment much of the time (well, aside from thinking about the giant to-do list that’s five pages long).  They fold up super cute, and even come in a carrying bag, have the little plastic end deals to protect the sharp edges, and so far have washed up nice.  The super neato part though?  Those color discs.  Because A) I color code the kids, pretty much everybody knows this by now, and B) if you use your thumb/finger on the color disc part, it twirls what you’re roasting!  No need to use your whole wrist to twist your roasting stick!  Okay, well, that’s still a work in progress for smaller hands.  But still cool!  I’m excited to see how they last for us.
