Moose Family Chili

Moose Family Chili (modified from the Wendy’s chili recipe on Pinterest and my pantry ingredients)

2lbs ground beef
2 quarts tomato sauce
1 can red kidney beans
3 cans pinto beans
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup diced celery
1/4 cup diced green pepper (dehydrated is okay!)
1-1.5 Tbsp chili powder
2 tsp ground cumin
1.5 tsp garlic powder
1-3 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1-3 tsp brown sugar
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
Optional: 1/4 tsp cinnamon, few chocolate chips, dashes of Tabasco sauce

1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef, drain off majority of fat.  Optional, can also saute onions, celery, green pepper here.
2. Put beef and remaining ingredients in a 6-7 quart pot (crockpot, stockpot, whatever).
3. Cover the pot and let the chili simmer for 1.5 hours (stovetop, stir every so often) to 5 hours (crockpot).
